Welcome!

We are Generations United, a NEW intergenerational playgroup that brings our younger and older communities together. Our playgroup sessions are based in local care homes and offer a range of fun and engaging activities for all to enjoy.

Intergenerational programmes intentionally unite generations with the hope of enriching all of the participants lives. We bring people of different generations together for mutally beneficial activities to promote a greater undertsanding and respect between generations. These sessions are desgined to be meaningful, creative, important and fun for all who take part. It shows a sense of community and compassion, allowing every age group to be positively impacted.

An emerging body of research has discovered the plethora of benefits of intergenerational programmes. Including but not limited to:

Our playgroups engage and inspire your children, allowing them to build new skills an enhance their learning. So we keep things fun and fresh by introducing a wide range of activities for your children to choose from. Each session runs for an hour and take place in care homes around Cornwall. You are also welcome to bring a snack with you. Sessions will consist of a selection of:

  • Welcome

  • Ice breaker

  • Children’s free play

  • Intergenerational activity: The Curiousity Jar

  • Themes activities like Arts & Crafts, role play, sensory play, music and edible art.

  • Story time and nursery rhymes.
